The President and Board of the IUSA are delighted to announce that the association’s 2016 Conference will take place on Friday January 29th 2016. The highlight of the IUSA’s calendar of events, the conference draws delegates from a variety of sectors including education, enterprise, culture, community & voluntary, media, politics and more to discuss leadership in creativity and innovation as well as transatlantic relations.

Previous keynote speakers and panelists have included Bryan Dobson, Niamh Bushnell, Roy Greenslade, Diane Brace, Senator Fiach MacConghaile, Sinéad Burke, Briain MacCraith, Ruraí McKiernan and the conference has been addressed by Ambassador Kevin O’ Malley as well as his predecessor Ambassador Dan Rooney. Delegates have also enjoyed addresses from Geraldine Byrne Nason, Secretary General, Department of An Taoiseach and Stuart Dwyer of U.S. Embassy Dublin. 2015’s conference featured a performance from The Young Folk and 2014 featured music from internationally renowned uilleann piper Jimmy O’ Brien Moran (a Fulbright alum) and friends including the sean nós singer and academic Lillis Ó Laoire.

2015 saw the inaugural IUSA Distinguished and Emerging Leader Awards in recognition of the positive contributions to Irish US relations which were presented to Muchael Barron of BeLongTo and Maeve O’ Rourke of Justice for Magdalene.
