David Gilmartin is a Law student studying at Dublin City University and an alumnus of the Washington Ireland Program 2010. As part of his selection to the program, he worked for Senator Charles Schumer (D-NY) in the United States Senate in Washington D.C and took part in many group service projects in the DC area with charities such as Life Pieces to Masterpieces and KidPower. He was selected to make a speech on the topic of future North-South Irish relations at a ceremony in Parliament Buildings in Stormont Castle, Belfast . David attended Kilkenny College Boarding School and during his time there raised substantial amounts of money and awareness for Habitat for Humanity and the Susie Long Hospice Fund.
